What counts as a request?

Any completed call through the gateway to a model provider counts as one request, regardless of tokens used. Failed provider calls (5xx errors) are not counted against your quota; rate-limited retries that KeyForge resolves internally count once.

What happens when I hit my monthly request limit?

KeyForge enforces hard limits: requests beyond your plan quota are rejected at the gateway with a clear error, so a runaway agent can never generate surprise bills. Your keys, logs, and dashboard remain fully accessible, and quotas reset on the first of each month.

Do virtual keys expire when I downgrade?

No keys are deleted. If you downgrade below your current active key count, existing keys keep working but you cannot create new ones until you are under the plan limit. Audit history is retained according to the new plan’s retention window.

Is the audit chain included on the Free plan?

Yes. HMAC hash-chained audit logging is core infrastructure, not an upsell — every plan gets the full tamper-evident chain. Plans differ only in how long entries are retained: 7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, 1 year on Enterprise.

How does annual billing work?

Annual plans are billed once per year at 10x the monthly price — effectively two months free. Pro is $190/year instead of $228, Enterprise is $490/year instead of $588. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time; changes prorate automatically.

Which models are “basic” on the Free plan?

Free includes the fast tier: GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, and Gemini 2.5 Flash. Pro and Enterprise unlock every model on the gateway, including GPT-5.4, Claude Sonnet 4.6, and Claude Haiku 4.5.

Can I set spending caps below my plan limit?

Yes — that is the point of virtual keys. Every key carries its own request quota, dollar spend cap, and rate limit, enforced at the gateway. A key for a staging bot can be capped at $5/month while your production agent key gets $500.

How do I cancel or change plans?

Accepted Answer

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time from your dashboard. Payments are processed by Stripe; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period and your account falls back to the Free tier — no data is deleted.
